Julian Alvarez transfer twist as Atletico reject claims of Barcelona exit push

Atletico Madrid have reportedly rejected suggestions that they encouraged Julian Alvarez to publicly seek a move to Barcelona, according to Barca Universal, citing Mundo Deportivo. Alvarez previously indicated that leaving Atletico was the best option for everyone while expressing his desire to join Barcelona. However, sources close to the Spanish club reportedly insist his comments were made independently.

Atletico say contact with Alvarez after the domestic season was limited to routine communication during the World Cup. Barcelona have already seen a reported €100 million offer, structured in six instalments, rejected by Atletico. Despite the setback, Barça remain hopeful, with Alvarez’s desire to join potentially influencing negotiations.
