Atiku drags Tinubu to court over alleged fake NYSC certificate

African Democratic Congress presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has asked the Federal High Court in Abuja to disqualify President Bola Ahmed Tinubu from the 2027 presidential race.

According to Daily Post, Atiku is seeking disqualification over an allegedly forged NYSC discharge certificate submitted to INEC, which bears the name “Tinubu Bola Adekunle” rather than “Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

The plaintiffs want the court to determine whether the discrepancy affects Tinubu’s qualification to contest. The suit also challenges provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 relating to candidate qualification.
