Jurors break silence on Lindsay Clancy mistrial

Share:

Three female jurors, including the foreperson, have spoken publicly about the deliberations that led to a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy murder case, according to BBC. Speaking to NBC10, the jurors said the panel was nearly ready to deliver a not-guilty-by-reason-of-insanity verdict, but one male juror refused to agree despite admitting he had reasonable doubt.

The foreperson described the deliberations as an “emotional rollercoaster” filled with tears and arguments. Clancy had not denied killing her three children, but her defence argued she suffered postpartum psychosis, while prosecutors maintained she acted deliberately. Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial on Friday after jurors deadlocked over nearly 40 hours across seven days.
