Juventus terminate Arthur Melo contract with €6m financial hit
Juventus have confirmed the termination of Arthur Melo’s contract, bringing the Brazilian midfielder’s six-year association with the Italian club to an end. According to Football Italia, Juventus said the decision would result in a negative economic impact of approximately €6 million after adjusting the player’s net book value.
Arthur joined Juventus from Barcelona in 2020 but managed only one goal and one assist in 63 appearances. He subsequently spent loan spells at Liverpool, Fiorentina, Girona and Gremio, with none becoming permanent. The 30-year-old had returned to Juventus following his latest loan but had not featured competitively for the club since the 2021-22 season.
