Kennedy Center board votes to add Trump’s name to building
The Kennedy Center’s board of trustees has voted to inscribe President Donald Trump’s name on the building’s exterior and to close the venue for two years of renovations, according to a report by The Washington Post.
The inscription would be placed below the venue’s sign, while the decisions potentially challenge two key elements of a federal court order. The moves come amid ongoing controversy since Trump’s earlier plan to overhaul the Kennedy Center, following a February lawsuit filed by preservationists over the renovation and prior warnings of “skeletal teams” during the planned closure.
