Kingibe accuses Wike of taking FCT loans without NASS approval

Senator Ireti Kingibe, representing the Federal Capital Territory, has alleged that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike obtained loans for the nation’s capital without approval from the National Assembly.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Political Paradigm, Kingibe said she had raised the matter with Senate leadership, adding that she had never seen Wike appear before the Senate to seek approval for any borrowing.

“I am definitely saying he has been taking loans without the approval of the national assembly,” she said.

According to Channels Television, as reported by The Cable, Kingibe said her allegation was based on Debt Management Office records covering borrowings from August 2023 to March 2026.
