Lagos Police investigate death of 23-year-old Nigerian Law School student at Victoria Island hostel
Lagos State Police have launched an investigation into the death of a 23-year-old Nigerian Law School student found unresponsive at the institution’s Victoria Island hostel in the early hours of Friday.
The student, identified as Alayande Faith Ajoke, was discovered at approximately 4:30 a.m. by her roommate, Ojo Abisoye Tinuola, who alerted the Chief Matron, Mrs. Igbokwe Juliana. The matron reported the incident to the Victoria Island Police Division at 6:30 a.m.
Preliminary observations suggest the student may have fallen from the rooftop of the four-storey hostel building. Police sources disclosed that investigators found two handwritten notes—one addressed to her stepfather and another to her roommate.
Detectives visited the scene, documented the area and evacuated the remains to Mainland General Hospital Mortuary, Yaba, for autopsy.
