Lagos police nab alleged self-appointed Olu of Ikeja
The Lagos Police Command has arrested a man for parading himself as the Olu of Ikeja and impersonating a traditional ruler without lawful authority, according to a Peoples Gazette report.
Police said the suspect was apprehended following a petition alleging conspiracy and impersonation, submitted July 28 by the Association of African Traditional Religion, Nigeria and Overseas, and endorsed by the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu. Commissioner Fatai Tijani ordered a discreet probe, handled by the SCID under Deputy Commissioner Dayo Akinbisehin. The suspect ignored earlier invitations before his arrest under a warrant.
