Manchester United close in on Carlos Baleba deal
Manchester United are closing in on an agreement to sign Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba after submitting an offer worth around £60 million plus £5m in add-ons. The Athletic, through David Ornstein, reports that Brighton consider the proposal below their valuation, but talks remain positive as both clubs work towards a deal.
The 22-year-old Cameroon international is currently recovering from an ankle ligament injury, although the problem is not viewed as serious. United have prioritised midfield reinforcements this summer, with Baleba admired for his ball-winning ability, passing and ground coverage. He joined Brighton from Lille in 2023 and has made 112 appearances for the club.
