Lens stun PSG 1-0 to win French Champions’ Trophy
Lens stunned Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 to win the French Champions’ Trophy on Sunday, denying the European champions a second trophy in five days.
According to Vanguard, Florian Thauvin scored the decisive goal in the 32nd minute, converting Matthieu Udol’s cross-shot at the back post.
Lens were reduced to 10 men before half-time when Kyllian Antonio was dismissed, but PSG failed to capitalise despite dominating possession.
Desire Doue struck the crossbar, while Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser frustrated PSG’s attack.
Nuno Mendes was also sent off late for PSG, who had beaten Aston Villa in Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup.
The victory gives Lens another trophy after their French Cup triumph in May.
