Lionel Messi masterclass powers Inter Miami comeback win over

Lionel Messi produced a match-winning performance to lead Inter Miami to a 2-1 comeback win over the New England Revolution, according to GOAL.

The host Revolution led early in the second half through Daniel Gazdag after a goalless first period. Miami leveled in the 69th minute when Messi delivered a deft backward header to set up German Berterame.

Messi then sealed the victory in spectacular fashion, dribbling past multiple defenders before firing a low, left-footed strike past Matt Turner. A late New England goal was ruled out for offside, preserving Miami’s win.

The result moves Miami up to second in the Eastern Conference on 59 points with one regular-season match remaining against Charlotte FC, officially securing their place in the 2027 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Praising his captain after the match, Miami manager Kily Gonzalez said: “I have no doubt that he’s the best of all. Leo at his age and what he does, from my point of view, deserves the MVP and also the Ballon d’Or.”
