Liverpool fight back to beat nine-man Brentford as Isak scores winner
Liverpool came from behind to beat Brentford 2-1 in the Premier League on Saturday, handing the hosts their first defeat of the season. According to RTÉ Sport, Keane Lewis-Potter gave Brentford the lead with a powerful header shortly before half-time, but Yehor Yarmoliuk’s dismissal for a headbutting action changed the contest.
Victor Munoz equalised after the break, firing past goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher following Florian Wirtz’s assist. Alexander Isak, returning from injury, scored the winner in the 70th minute after Bradley Barcola headed Alexis Mac Allister’s cross back into the danger area. Brentford finished with nine men after Vitaly Janelt received a second yellow card in stoppage time for pulling back Rio Ngumoha.
