Liverpool vs Arsenal: Wright, Neville and Keane deliver Premier League predictions
Ian Wright has backed Arsenal to secure a 2-1 victory over Liverpool ahead of Sunday’s Premier League showdown at Anfield, while Roy Keane has predicted a draw.
The Gunners head into the encounter with an opportunity to move top of the Premier League table following Manchester City’s 1-0 defeat to Brighton on Saturday.
Speaking on Stick to Football, former Arsenal striker Wright expressed confidence in his former club’s chances of collecting all three points.
“I think we beat them,” Arsenal legend, Ian Wright, said on Stick to Football.
“This is the game that kind of defines Liverpool if they are coming back. You’re looking at [Alexis] Mac Allister, even [Cody] Gakpo [to step up]… but deep down, I really think we beat them. 2-1 Arsenal.”
Meanwhile, former Manchester United captain Keane expects the contest to end level, believing Liverpool showed encouraging signs against Manchester City before a red card affected the game.
“I’m thinking draw, Liverpool did well against City until the red card, 1-1?”
Former United defender Gary Neville also expects a cautious approach from Arsenal, suggesting Mikel Arteta’s side will prioritise avoiding defeat at Anfield.
“Arsenal will play for a point.”
The predictions come ahead of a crucial encounter for both sides, with Liverpool also having an opportunity to strengthen their position in the race for a top-four finish.
