Lunatics can’t become Nigeria’s president, Wike hammers Amaechi
Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has attacked former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi, describing him as a “lunatic” and accusing him of failing to account for several projects executed during his administration.
According to The Sun, Wike spoke on Friday at his Life Camp residence in Abuja after meeting area council chairmen.
Reacting to Amaechi’s reported criticism of supporters of President Bola Tinubu, Wike cited alleged expenditures including $39 million for a cassava flour mill, $10 million for mosquito fumigation and ₦68 billion for a monorail project.
“A man who wants to be a presidential candidate, a vice-presidential candidate of a country, cannot account for paying humongous amounts of $39 million for a project that does not exist,” Wike said.
He also urged INEC to address what he described as inflammatory campaign rhetoric.
“If he continues this line, it will be difficult for him to campaign in Rivers,” Wike added.
The FCT minister also accused the Nigeria Labour Congress of pursuing a politically motivated strike and warned that the administration would enforce its “no work, no pay” policy against participating workers.
