Man City handed fresh FFP blow as verdict timeline comes under scrutiny

Manchester City’s long-running Premier League financial charges case could continue for years, according to former club financial adviser Stefan Borson. Speaking to Football365, Borson criticised the lengthy process surrounding the 115 charges brought against City. An independent commission completed its hearing in December 2024 after proceedings began the previous September, but no verdict has yet been announced.

Borson warned that even if the commission delivers its findings soon, determining any potential punishment and handling subsequent appeals could extend the dispute considerably. The charges cover alleged financial breaches across multiple seasons, including sponsorship reporting, player and manager payments and cooperation with the Premier League investigation.
