Man United Muslim fans demand Ratcliffe, Glazers exit after immigration remarks

Manchester United Muslim Supporters Club (MUMSC) has called for a change in the club’s ownership structure, saying it has lost confidence in the current leadership after co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s latest comments on immigration, taxes and welfare, Punch reports.

As reported by BBC Sport, MUMSC described the remarks — in which Ratcliffe told the BBC that Britain was “on the slide” due to high taxes and immigration — as “deeply disappointing and completely unacceptable,” noting it had previously condemned similar comments he made in February, when he said Britain had been “colonised by immigrants” before apologising.

“We hoped a lesson had been learned. Clearly, it has not,” the group said, adding that its members had hoped Ratcliffe’s arrival would “finally signal meaningful change” after the Glazer family’s prolonged decline of the club.

MUMSC further criticised the ownership over rising ticket prices, the state of Old Trafford and the team’s performances, insisting United’s identity was built on a diverse community of players, staff and supporters.

“The Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe must go,” the group concluded, marking a fresh flashpoint for Ratcliffe, who acquired a 27.7% stake in the club in 2024 and has since overseen sweeping redundancies and restructuring.
