Man Utd fans staged furious derby protest over ‘disgraceful’ ticket touting crackdown
Manchester United supporters staged an angry protest before the Manchester derby, with players later emerging under a banner reading “the way you treat us is a disgrace.” The demonstration followed the club’s controversial summer crackdown on ticket touting, which saw 685 season tickets removed after an investigation into account activity between March and June.
According to the Manchester World, fans chanted anti-Glazer songs and displayed banners criticising co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe outside Old Trafford, while the Red Army group withdrew its usual flag display. United admitted the process had “caused significant concern and distress” for some supporters, but insisted organised touting networks had been disrupted.
