Man Utd suffer Baleba injury blow as £70m signing faces three-week layoff

Manchester United have been handed an early setback following confirmation that new signing Carlos Baleba could miss around three weeks with an ankle injury. Manager Michael Carrick revealed the Cameroon international arrived at Old Trafford with the problem, meaning supporters may have to wait until October to see the midfielder make his debut.

According to Vanguard News, Baleba joined United from Brighton in a deal worth £70 million and was expected to strengthen Carrick’s midfield alongside Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. Carrick, however, remains excited by the 22-year-old’s potential, describing him as an “exciting signing” with qualities that could add balance to the squad.
