Marc-André ter Stegen breaks silence on Manuel Neuer’s lack of congratulations

Marc-André ter Stegen has revealed that Manuel Neuer has not congratulated him on becoming Germany’s new No.1 goalkeeper, although he stressed there is no issue between them.Speaking ahead of Germany’s clash with the Netherlands, ter Stegen was asked whether Neuer had contacted him following his promotion.

According to Bavarian Football Works, the Barcelona goalkeeper said: “No,” before acknowledging that he had also not contacted Neuer. Ter Stegen congratulated Neuer on becoming a father for the second time and praised the Bayern Munich legend’s contribution to German football. He also wished the 40-year-old a successful conclusion to his career if this proves to be his final season.
