Martinelli, Nwaneri miss Arsenal’s Community Shield squad

Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri were notable absentees from Arsenal’s squad for Sunday’s Community Shield clash with Manchester City, fuelling questions over their futures.

According to Yahoo Sports, neither player was included in Mikel Arteta’s matchday selection at Wembley.

Their omissions come amid transfer speculation surrounding both players.

Martinelli has been linked with a possible Arsenal exit as the club reshapes its attacking options, while Nwaneri’s future has also attracted attention amid interest elsewhere.

Arteta recently acknowledged that Nwaneri needs regular playing time, raising the possibility of a move if Arsenal cannot provide sufficient minutes.

Their Community Shield absences have therefore added further intrigue as the summer transfer window approaches its closing stages.
