Mateta red card costs Palace as Tottenham clinch comfortable victory at TH Stadium
Tottenham Hotspur secured their third consecutive Premier League victory with a comfortable 2-0 win against ten-man Crystal Palace at the TH Stadium, according to a report from Capital Football UK.
The match swung decisively in the hosts’ favour after just twelve minutes when Jean-Philippe Mateta received a straight red card for a clumsy challenge on Micky van de Ven.
Spurs capitalised on their numerical advantage when Archie Gray nodded home a Mohamed Kudus corner at the back stick in the 25th minute for his first goal since February.
Despite valiant resistance from Palace and several sharp saves by goalkeeper Dean Henderson, Tottenham sealed the three points in the 73rd minute.
Jan Paul van Hecke forced the ball over the line at the second attempt following a Fernandes cross, pushing Spurs into mid-table and leaving the Eagles mired in the relegation zone.
