Michael Carrick breaks silence after Manchester United’s AC Milan defeat
Michael Carrick admitted Manchester United were disappointed with their 4-2 defeat to AC Milan in their final pre-season friendly on Saturday according to Manchester Evening News. Speaking to MUTV, Carrick said United had “no excuses” after conceding four goals and failing to maintain their performance levels.
Despite the loss, he insisted the club’s overall preparations had been positive ahead of the new Premier League season. United recorded two wins, two draws and two defeats during pre-season. Carrick also confirmed that selection decisions remain before next weekend’s league opener against Hull, with the squad set for further training at Carrington.
