Migrants must not turn UK into nation of ‘little ghettos’, Kemi Badenoch warns
UK Conservative Party leader, Kemi Badenoch, has warned that Britain could become a nation of “little ghettos” if migrants fail to integrate into British society.
Badenoch issued the warning on Sunday while opening her party’s conference in Birmingham, where she said immigrants must respect the country’s culture and values.
“I don’t want lots of little ghettos of separatist communities where they are recreating the place that they came from. That will ruin the United Kingdom,” she said.
According to Peoples Gazette, Badenoch also vowed to rebuild Britain in the manner Margaret Thatcher did in 1979.
“This is our home. It is not a dormitory. It is not a hotel. Even if people come here just to work, they need to respect our culture. They need to respect our values,” she said.
Badenoch, born in London to Nigerian parents, has previously criticised Nigeria and opposed what she considers excessive immigration.
