Mikel Arteta agrees new Arsenal contract after leading champions
Mikel Arteta has agreed an improved new contract with Premier League champions Arsenal, according to the BBC. The Spaniard’s current deal was due to expire at the end of the season, but negotiations have been ongoing for several months. The BBC reports that a final agreement has now been reached, although the length of the new contract has not been confirmed.
Arteta’s new deal is expected to take him into at least his 10th year at Arsenal, where he arrived in December 2019. His salary will reportedly rise from £10 million per year, with bonuses currently worth a further £5 million.
