Ministers, agency heads barred from foreign trips without SGF’s approval
The Tinubu-led Federal Government has barred ministers, security chiefs, heads of agencies and other appointees from embarking on foreign trips without formal approval from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF).
Naija News reports that the directive, contained in a circular signed by SGF George Akume, takes immediate effect following persistent non-compliance with earlier travel guidelines.
The circular directs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to make OSGF approval mandatory for processing visas and notes verbales, while the Auditor-General will verify compliance during audits. Accounting officers and agency heads have also been barred from processing funds for unauthorised trips.
The directive was addressed to the Chief of Staff, ministers, service chiefs, CBN Governor, agency heads and other top federal officials.
