Moises Caicedo and Marco Palestra injury updates after missing Fulham win
Chelsea could welcome Moises Caicedo and Marco Palestra back quickly after both missed the 3-2 victory over Fulham through minor training injuries. As reported by The Athletic, Xabi Alonso confirmed the pair suffered setbacks during the week but stressed the club did not want to take unnecessary risks with either player. Caicedo’s absence was particularly notable as Chelsea started with Reece James and Romeo Lavia in midfield.
The Ecuadorian is now hopeful of returning against Luton Town in the Carabao Cup. Palestra, meanwhile, could make his competitive debut in the same fixture. Jordan Henderson remains short of match fitness after recovering from a broken wrist, while Emmanuel Emegha and Aaron Anselmino have no confirmed return dates.
