Mum “obsessed” with Clancy case allegedly hangs son, 2

An Illinois mother has been charged with first-degree murder after allegedly hanging her two-year-old son, whom she reportedly called the “anti-Christ,” following what prosecutors describe as an obsession with Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial.

As reported by Daily Star, Corie Walsh, 38, was arrested after a neighbour found her son, Barrett, hanging in the family basement with no pulse; an autopsy later confirmed he died of asphyxiation.

Walsh was found in a bathtub and hospitalised after an apparent attempt to harm herself, though her injuries were not life-threatening.

Prosecutors said she had texted friends about the Clancy case hours before the incident.

Three other children in the home were found unharmed, while Walsh now faces three counts of first-degree murder.
