Murat Yakin calls for Granit Xhaka and Breel Embolo return ahead of November tests

Switzerland head coach Murat Yakin has called for the return of Granit Xhaka and Breel Embolo ahead of the decisive November Nations League fixtures. According to GOAL, Yakin wants both experienced players back despite recent off-field controversy surrounding the duo. Switzerland have won all four of their League B matches and need another victory to secure promotion to League A.

Yakin also confirmed that Xhaka remains Switzerland’s captain, despite Manuel Akanji deputising during his absence. “You can’t replace Granit and Breel,” Yakin said, stressing the importance of their experience as Switzerland prepare to face Scotland and Slovenia.
