‘My landlord slept with my wife — she told him I was dead’: Ibadan man seeks divorce over infidelity

A man identified as Obinna has approached the Grade A Customary Court sitting at Mapo, Ibadan, seeking the dissolution of his marriage to Chidinma, alleging infidelity, drunkenness and threats to his life — including the shocking revelation that his wife told a fellow landlord she was sleeping with that her husband was dead.

“My lord, my wife is a whore and has betrayed the trust I had in her,” Obinna told the court, recounting how he built his wife a shop, stocked it with goods and provided for her daily needs — only to discover her affairs.

According to Tribune, Chidinma was absent from court despite being served with court processes. Obinna offered to pay a year’s rent for her new accommodation after divorce. The case was adjourned for her response.
