Nasarawa police arrest four doctors, others over alleged organ harvesting ring

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested four persons, including two hospital doctors, over an alleged human trafficking and organ harvesting syndicate in Nasarawa State.

According to Daily Post, Force spokesperson CSP Ani Iniedu said operatives of the Special Tactical Squad carried out a sting operation in Auta Balifi, Karu council area, on August 19, arresting Emmanuel Ode, Dr Benjamin Oyime, Dr Daniel Otukpa and David Idoko.

Investigators said Ode allegedly confessed to recruiting a 22-year-old victim whose kidney was removed for $1,250 at a Wellington Hospital facility in Abuja.

Police said the syndicate targeted vulnerable young people and manhunt for other suspects continues.
