NCAA orders Air Peace to compensate passengers over delayed Lagos-Enugu flight

The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has directed Air Peace to compensate passengers affected by a delayed Lagos-Enugu flight after complaints over inadequate notification.

According to TheCable, the directive followed a complaint by lawyer Inibehe Effiong, who said the delay caused him to miss a court appearance in Enugu.

Effiong said passengers expecting a 6:45am flight were informed at the airport that departure had been shifted to 4:50pm.

Following a preliminary investigation, NCAA spokesperson Michael Achimugu said Air Peace admitted passengers should have been notified about the rescheduling and that an earlier message was sent in error.

The regulator ordered the airline to provide compensation and required care under NCAA Regulations 2023, warning that failure to comply could attract heavy sanctions.
