New 9/11 documentary exposes how Trump exploited the tragedy
A Netflix documentary examines how the aftermath of the September 11 attacks helped shape Donald Trump’s political rise and immigration policies.
According to HuffPost, “Turning Point: Generation 9/11,” which premiered September 2, traces how America’s War on Terror created political and security structures that influenced Trump’s first presidential campaign.
The film revisits Trump’s 2015 call for a shutdown on Muslims entering the United States, his border-wall pledge and tough rhetoric against ISIS.
It also examines the creation of the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement after 9/11, arguing that expanded counterterrorism powers influenced immigration enforcement under Trump.
