NFF Executive Committee set to resign amid reform push

Members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Executive Committee are reportedly set to resign to pave way for sweeping reforms, according to a Blueprint report.

The move comes amid mounting pressure on the Ibrahim Gusau-led leadership following Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and the Super Falcons’ failure to secure the 2027 Women’s World Cup slot. Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel is among stakeholders demanding fresh leadership.

The development could halt the September 27 NFF election in Lafia, Nasarawa, and open the way for a temporary normalisation committee to oversee reforms.
