Nigeria now IDP camp, Peter Obi cries out
Presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has described Nigeria as an internally displaced persons’ camp, following prolonged killings and attacks across the country.
According to Daily Trust, Obi spoke during a visit to displaced persons in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, where he urged the Federal Government to secure communities and enable residents to return home.
He said about 45,000 people from more than 20 communities had been displaced by insecurity, leaving many children out of school. Obi said prayers alone could not resolve the crisis, insisting that government must identify and prosecute those responsible for killings and kidnappings.
