Niger’s food economy at risk as attacks force farmers, traders off roads

Farmers in Borgu communities say they can no longer reach their farms or transport produce, while traders have abandoned rural markets like Babana and Gufanti for safer alternatives closer to Minna. Police say joint security patrols have reduced attacks, but a fresh abduction at Kpenya Mosque on August 21 highlights the fragile recovery.
