Nwifuru threatens to sack Ebonyi LG chairs who fail APC in 2027
Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru has warned that any local government chairperson who fails to secure victory for the APC in the 2027 elections will be removed from office.
According to TheCable, citing NAN, Nwifuru issued the warning on Tuesday in Abakaliki during the inauguration of new LG chairpersons and vice-chairpersons across the state’s 13 councils.
He urged them to deliver a 100% vote for the party and avoid rivalry with their deputies, describing vice-chairpersons as “spare tyres” who should only step in when chairpersons are unable to function.
However, Nwifuru cited his own deputy governor’s rise from council chairperson as proof that loyalty and performance can be rewarded.
