Obama campaigns for democrats as midterm elections approach
Former President Barack Obama attacked the Trump administration over the Iran war and high consumer prices at a Saturday campaign rally in Cleveland for Democrats ahead of the midterm elections, BBC reported. Obama stumped for Amy Acton and Sherrod Brown, and was set to appear later in Detroit for Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.
“If you thought everyone was too expensive before you know who,” he said, referring to Trump, “everything is more expensive now.” Obama said the war has given Iran “veto power” over the Strait of Hormuz. “This election is our last best chance to at least rein in some of the foolishness of this administration,” he said.
Trump cast his early ballot in Florida on Saturday before heading to Georgia for a Republican rally. Asked about the Iran war, Trump said: “I’ve done it very effectively and I may have to finish it off, or maybe they’ll make a deal, but I’m not sure. Either way, we win.”
