Obi demands Fadahunsi retract “kill Accord” remarks, apologise to Osun residents
Presidential candidate Peter Obi has demanded Senator Francis Fadahunsi retract his alleged “kill Accord” remarks and apologise to Osun residents ahead of Saturday’s governorship election, Vanguard reports.
In a statement titled “Senator Francis Fadahunsi’s Incendiary Rhetoric Ahead of the Osun Election,” Obi warned that such threats could escalate tensions and trigger electoral violence, despite Fadahunsi’s claim he meant “kill” via votes, not violence.
Obi urged political leaders to exercise restraint and called on security agencies to monitor inflammatory statements to protect voters and officials before, during and after the polls.
