Ogun moves to abolish 24-hour wait before filing reports for missing persons
Ogun State has proposed scrapping the 24-hour wait period before reporting missing persons, Attorney-General Oluwasina Ogungbade said Tuesday. The Missing Persons Bill, part of four criminal justice bills approved by the state executive council, would mandate immediate reporting and penalise those who delay. It also proposes faster access to banking and telecom records, plus rapid response protocols, including alerts to transport unions, for child abduction cases.
