Military nurse links premature exit from service to Brig-Gen’s alleged sexual advances
Ex-corporal Matilda Anighoro, a military nurse, says she resigned from the Nigerian Army in 2023 after enduring sustained sexual harassment from Brigadier-General Samson Okoigi, former Acting Corps Commander. She alleges retaliation, including an irregular transfer, 16 days of detention with hard labour, and stripped rank after resisting his advances. She says she’s been denied pension and retirement benefits. Okoigi has not responded to requests for comment.
