Pep Chavarria set for Chelsea medical as deal nears completion

Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria after agreeing personal terms with the 28-year-old. The clubs are finalising the transfer, with the defender expected to undergo a medical shortly. Chavarria has been identified as Chelsea’s preferred replacement for Marc Cucurella following the Spaniard’s summer move to Real Madrid.
