Ogun police arrest five for alleged N100m phone, accessories theft

Police have arrested five suspects for allegedly robbing a mobile phone and accessories dealer in Ogun State of goods worth N100 million, according to Peoples Gazette.

Nigeria Police Force spokesman Ani Iniedu said the Special Tactical Squad launched a discreet investigation on August 10 following a petition from Sanniphil Company, after suspects attacked a company vehicle transporting phones and accessories from Lagos to Onitsha.

The arrested suspects are Okori Joyus, Yetunde Lasisi, Usen Samuel, Usen Wisdom, and Quadri Oluwadare. Police recovered 81 brand-new smartphones and 196 chargers as exhibits, while efforts continue to apprehend other fleeing gang members and recover remaining stolen property.
