Six opposition parties have set August 31, 2026, for a summit aimed at beginning talks on cooperation ahead of the 2027 general election.
According to Daily Post, opposition leader Salihu Lukman disclosed the date on Thursday on behalf of the G100 group.
He said the gathering would focus on negotiations over the terms, institutions and principles guiding possible cooperation among the parties.
The parties involved are the African Democratic Congress, Allied Peoples Movement, National Democratic Congress, Peoples Democratic Party, Peoples Redemption Party and Social Democratic Party.
Lukman said the proposed cooperation would not require any party to lose its identity or independence.
