Osun govt sets up panel to investigate Ikire killing

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has issued an Executive Order establishing a Coroner Inquest/Panel of Inquiry to investigate the deadly clash at Naira and Kobo Junction Motor Park in Ikire on August 24, according to The Sun Nigeria.

The violence left two people dead and injured police officers, with a suspect arrested for snatching a police rifle alleging Senator Akogun Lere was his “boss,” an accusation the senator denies. The panel, chaired by Magistrate Ayokunle Shiyanbola, will investigate the causes, establish criminal responsibility, and examine whether security operatives’ use of live ammunition met legal standards, submitting its report within 30 days.
