Persian Gulf oil flows recover to 72% of pre-conflict levels amid US blockade Of Iran

Persian Gulf oil exports have recovered to about 72% of their prewar levels as shipping activity through the Strait of Hormuz increases amid the ongoing conflict involving Iran, the New York Post reports.

Crude and petroleum-product exports from Gulf countries have risen sharply, with vessels increasingly sailing through the strategic waterway under United States protection, the report said. New data cited in the report also showed Gulf-area exports had rebounded to between 15 million and 16 million barrels per day, compared with a low of about 5 million to 6 million barrels per day recorded in March. The Strait of Hormuz remains a crucial route for global energy supplies, making the restoration of oil flows significant for international markets.

According to the report, the development comes as Washington continues to maintain pressure on Iran through a blockade. United States officials have described Iran as “exhausted” by the blockade, suggesting that the pressure has affected Tehran’s ability to sustain the disruption.
