Police arrest kidnap syndicate member while withdrawing ransom in Kwara”
Kwara State Police have arrested suspected kidnapping syndicate member Muhamodu Sanni after intercepting him at a Point of Sale outlet while he allegedly attempted to withdraw ransom money linked to the July 28 abduction of three residents of Obudu Village in Ilorin East Local Government Area.
According to Daily Trust, Command spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi said investigators traced the criminal group’s communication channels, resource movement and ransom collection networks rather than focusing solely on tracking the abductors directly — a strategy that led them to Sanni.
During interrogation, Sanni allegedly identified two other syndicate members as Aminu and Umar. Further arrests are expected as intelligence is analysed and corroborated.
