Hillary Iwuoha was last seen on August 31, 2026, at 647 East 230th Street in the Bronx, according to a missing person alert issued by the New York Police Department, according to People’s Gazette.

The 47th Precinct Detective Squad described her as wearing a grey hoodie with pink lettering, grey sweatpants, and black Crocs, adding that she has no known mental health condition.

Her family has expressed worry over her disappearance, urging anyone with useful information to contact Detective Madina at 718-920-1214. The local community in the Bronx has also joined efforts to appeal for information regarding her whereabouts, amplifying calls across social media platforms.

The development has triggered an outpouring of concern online, with several social media users expressing hope for her safe return and offering prayers for her family during this period of uncertainty. Many commenters described the news as distressing, while others urged continued vigilance until she is located.

The case has drawn renewed attention to the safety of Nigerian nationals abroad, coming months after another Nigerian woman, Olasinmibo Abosede, was found dead in the Springbrook Prairie Forest Preserve in Illinois, days after she too had been reported missing. That earlier case had similarly prompted widespread concern within the diaspora community, and Iwuoha’s disappearance has reignited those conversations.
Authorities continue to appeal for public assistance in the ongoing search.
