Police reportedly raid home of Ilhan Omar’s son, seize guns and ammunition
Police in Minneapolis reportedly raided the apartment of US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s son, Adnan, and seized firearms and ammunition before arresting his roommate.
According to the Daily Mail, law enforcement sources said a search warrant was executed at the apartment on Tuesday night, where guns and ammunition were reportedly recovered.
Omar’s son was not reported to have been arrested.
His roommate, 22-year-old Abdulrahman Abdi, was arrested after police reportedly found a firearm during an earlier traffic stop and later tracked him to the apartment.
Abdi was subsequently booked into Hennepin County Jail on a weapons charge before being released, according to records cited in the report.
The development comes after previous controversy involving Omar’s son and US immigration authorities.
