Political thugs allegedly attack Peter Obi’s convoy, warn him against entering Benue
The convoy of Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi was reportedly attacked by suspected political thugs on Airport-Boko Road, with the attackers allegedly warning him against entering Benue State.
According to SaharaReporters, the incident occurred during Obi’s political tour of Kogi, Benue and Enugu states. The report said the attackers were allegedly politically sponsored, while security agencies were urged to investigate the incident.
Obi had earlier visited Otukpa, where residents raised concerns over insecurity, unemployment, healthcare and education. The alleged attack has renewed concerns about political violence and freedom of movement ahead of the 2027 elections.
