The Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, emphasized that the Igbo can overcome the marginalization of their region and achieve political freedom by joining the ruling party.
Ganduje recalled the missed opportunity for an Igbo president in the 1980s, citing Alex Ekwueme’s vice presidency under Shehu Shagari before the military takeover.
He reiterated his stance at Ifeanyi Ubah’s empowerment rally in Nnewi, Anambra State, stating, ‘The road to political freedom is to key into the ruling party, and once you do that, marginalization would be a thing of the past.’
